HOUSTON – A trip and fall lawsuit brought against Harris County is alleging gross negligence for the erection of “improper stairs.”

Aaron Ruth Park, a Hockley resident, filed her suit Aug. 16.

According to her petition, on Dec. 6, 2018, Park was exiting Juergen’s Hall Community Center when she tripped and fell down the stairs.

The suit declines to give any specific details, simply stating the county failed to warn of the dangerous condition.

The suit accuses the county of gross negligence for “erecting and not removing the stairs” and “allowing the public in this area.”

Park was 69 when she tripped.

She is suing for her lost earning capacity, impairment, mental anguish and disfigurement.

Houston attorney Jeffrey Todd represents her.
