HOUSTON – A woman has claimed a greasy spot on the floor of a Pluckers restaurant in Houston caused her to fall and hit her head.

Mary Charles filed a complaint on Dec. 23 in Harris County District Court against Pluckers-Shepherd LP, alleging negligence.

Charles and her family were dining at the Pluckers restaurant on Shepherd Drive in Houston on Dec. 30, 2018, the complaint stated. She alleged that while attempting to walk to the restroom, she slipped and fell on a "greasy substance" that was on the floor leading to the restroom. Charles claimed she hit her head on the baseboard and suffered injuries including physical pain and mental anguish. She further claimed that she has suffered physical impairment and medical expenses as a result of her alleged fall.

Charles alleged that Pluckers was negligent in failing to eliminate the dangerous condition on the floor and failing to warn customers "to use extra care" when walking in the area. She also alleged that Pluckers should have known the grease spot created an "unreasonable risk."

Charles seeks monetary relief of $70,000, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Toni Triplett of the Triplett Law Firm in Houston.
