Eric Ashworth has filed a lawsuit against Kozhaya Sokhon, M.D., Padmaja Polavarapu, M.D., AdvaCardio, PLLC, Emergency Hospital System d/b/a Texas Emergency Hospital and EHS Emergency Rooms, LLC in the District Court of Harris County, Texas. The case ID is 2024-21802 and was filed on April 5, 2024.

The plaintiff alleges that he presented to Texas Emergency Hospital with worsening chest pains on September 4, 2023. Despite tests revealing suspicions of a myocardial infarction, he was discharged with instructions to follow up with Dr. Sokhon for an exercise stress test the following day. On September 5, Mr. Ashworth's stress test showed abnormal signs of an ongoing myocardial infarction but was instructed by Dr. Sokhon to complete a nuclear stress test later and follow up in two weeks.

On September 6, Mr. Ashworth returned to the hospital where he was diagnosed with an ST elevation myocardial infarction and transferred to another facility where a 95% blockage in the artery was discovered while undergoing treatment.

Ashworth is seeking monetary relief over $1,000,000 for damages incurred due to alleged medical negligence.
