Man sues Dr. Richard Francis for alleged medical negligence in spine surgery

Edwin Macias has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Richard Francis in the District Court of Harris County, Texas (Court Case ID: 2024-29648) on May 9, 2024. The case involves allegations of medical negligence related to an orthopedic spine procedure and subsequent care provided by Dr. Francis.

According to the court filing, Macias claims that Dr. Francis damaged nerves in his back and shoulder during a procedure on June 1, 2023, and failed to recognize or provide appropriate follow-up treatment for these injuries. Macias is represented by attorney Michael C. Watson, while the damages sought range between $200,000 and $1,000,000.

Macias is seeking compensation for past and future medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, physical impairment, mental anguish, and disfigurement caused by the alleged negligence of Dr. Francis. The plaintiff requests judgment for the full amount of damages as well as pre-judgment and post-judgment interest.
