Moris Hazim has filed a lawsuit against the City of Houston, alleging negligence following a vehicular collision involving a city employee. The complaint was lodged on January 10, 2025, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas. Hazim's legal action targets the City of Houston as the defendant.

The case stems from an incident on June 5, 2024, when Moris Hazim was involved in a traffic accident at 100 North Chenevert Street in Houston. According to the petition, Rodrigo Munoz, an employee of the City of Houston driving an ambulance without emergency lights or sirens, collided with Hazim's vehicle. Officer T. Syed from the Houston Police Department investigated and determined that Munoz was solely at fault for failing to control his speed.

Hazim claims he suffered severe injuries due to Munoz's negligence while performing his duties for the city. The plaintiff argues that Munoz breached several duties owed to him, including maintaining a safe distance and controlling speed. The lawsuit invokes the Texas Tort Claims Act (TTCA), which waives sovereign immunity for personal injury claims involving government employees' negligent operation of motor vehicles.

Hazim seeks damages exceeding $250,000 for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of earnings, medical expenses, and other related costs. He also requests a jury trial to resolve these issues.

Representing Moris Hazim are attorneys Jason C. Webster, Heidi O. Vicknair, Ryan S. MacLeod, and Christian Tovar from Webster Vicknair MacLeod law firm. The case is filed under Case ID 2025-02259 in the 127th Judicial District Court by Judge Patricia Jones.
