In a dramatic legal turn of events, a Houston resident has taken legal action against two companies following a distressing incident at a local laundromat. Tandy Bradford filed the complaint in Harris County, Texas, on March 14, 2025, targeting Elevat3, LLC, doing business as SpinXpress Laundry, and DPEG Bissonnet Mall, LLC. The lawsuit accuses these entities of negligence leading to personal injury.

The complaint details an incident that occurred on June 26, 2023, when Bradford visited the SpinXpress Laundry located at 9619 Southwest Freeway in Houston. As she exited the building, she slipped on a slippery liquid substance that had been left unattended on the floor. This fall resulted in significant injuries for Bradford. "Defendants owed a duty of care to protect her from harm," the filing states, emphasizing that this duty was breached due to negligent maintenance and failure to warn customers about potential hazards.

Bradford's petition outlines several accusations against the defendants. It claims negligence in maintaining safe premises and gross negligence due to their awareness of the risks posed by such conditions yet failing to act accordingly. The document further alleges premises liability and asserts that employees were inadequately hired, trained, supervised, or retained by the defendants. "Defendants' conduct involved an extreme degree of risk," notes the filing, underscoring the severity of their alleged oversight.

Seeking justice for her ordeal, Bradford is asking for monetary relief exceeding one million dollars ($1,000,000), covering various damages including past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering both physical and mental anguish. Additionally, she seeks exemplary damages due to what she describes as grossly negligent conduct by the defendants. The petition also demands pre-judgment and post-judgment interest as permitted by law.

Representing Tandy Bradford is attorney Mili Sivadasan from Herrman & Herrman P.L.L.C., based in Corpus Christi. The case has been assigned to Judge Monica Jackson under Case ID 2025-17656 in Harris County District Court.
